RPM/Chef 10.26.0 Released

by Alan Milligan last modified May 16, 2013 01:03 PM

This release adds a feature for setting user passwords on Solaris, fixes a bug in Resource.const_defined?, and adds SSL root certificates to the Omnibus packages.  We've just pushed the latest Chef packages onto our cloud channel. For details of all the features and fixes, please visit www.opscode.com/blog/2013/05/08/chef-10-26-0-released/‎.  As usual, simply upgrade with yum:

$ yum update chef*

We'd also like to take the opportunity to highlight that we've new AWS/AMI images of BastionLinux/Chef - full details and instructions are here. We are hopeful that these will be available directly from AWS/Marketplace soon.

We also have some other initiatives around our OpenStack and Crowbar RPM infrastructure which we're very excited about given Chef's critical orchestration role in this framework - well done everyone at OpsCode!  We are actually looking for a client to do a reference implementation with this.  If you've been at all thinking about OpenStack and Crowbar we'd love to discuss mutual collaboration!
